Q – What is Belotero®?

A – Belotero® is an injectable dermal filler comprised of hyaluronic acid that can be used to restore volume in the face, smooth lines and wrinkles, and enhance facial contours for a more youthful, radiant look.

Q – Are the results of Belotero® permanent?

A – No, the results of Belotero® are not permanent. The hyaluronic acid in Belotero® degrades over time; however, results generally last six to twelve months.

Q – How long does treatment with Belotero® take?

A – Virginia Beach plastic surgeon Dr. Choe performs Belotero® injections at the Choe Center for Facial Plastic Surgery. Treatment is quick and easy and takes just about twenty minutes to complete.

Q – How much pain is associated with Belotero® injections?

A – There is generally little pain or discomfort associated with dermal filler injections and this is especially true with Belotero® because it is designed to integrate into your own tissue rather than disrupt the tissue. A very fine needle is used and a topical anesthetic cream may be applied prior to treatment to maximize the patient’s comfort.

Q – What will the treatment area feeling like after injection?

A – The treatment area feels very natural after treatment with Belotero® because the product so readily integrates into the patient’s own tissues. This means that it will not feel hard, unusual or unnatural, even when injected into areas like the lips.

Q – When will I be able to resume normal activities after treatment with Belotero®?

A – Some minor redness or swelling may occur after injection but these side effects typically fade quickly. Nevertheless, many patients return to work and other normal activities immediately after treatment.
