Cheek Augmentation Surgery
Kyle S. Choe, MD Facial Plastic Surgeon, Virginia Beach, VA
High cheekbones are very expressive and help to define the rest of your face. They highlight your eyes, accentuate your smile and create balance to the shape of your face. However, they can do just the opposite if they are “underdeveloped” – by making your nose and jaw look more prominent and out of balance with the rest of your face – as well as causing your eyes to look hollow and sunken. If your cheekbones are not high and well proportioned – you may always look tired. Well proportioned cheekbones are a sign of beauty – which diminishes with the normal aging process. Cheek augmentation surgery can safely and simply restore the natural beauty you once experienced – or give you the beautiful, balanced face you never had but deserve.
Benefits of Cheek Augmentation Surgery – Cheek Implants:
- Cheek Implants are safe, effective and simple
- Cheek Implants can be combined with other procedures
- Cheek Implants correct that tired appearance from hollow eyes
- Cheek Implants can bring the nose and jaw back into balance
- Cheek Implants highlight your eyes and accentuate your smile
- Cheek Implants enhance the soft facial tissue and the bony cheek area
- Cheek Implants help to restore a “more youthful” pleasing – appearance
Cheek Augmentation Surgery Overview:
This procedure takes about one hour unless you’re combining it with other facial rejuvenation procedures. Incisions are usually made inside the mouth to create pockets into which the implants are inserted. The implant is easily inserted into the pocket in front of the jawbone. Dissolvable sutures are used inside the mouth and sterile tape strips will be applied on the outside of the cheeks to hold the implants in place.
