Mid-face lift Frequently Asked Questions
Should I have a Mid-face lift or a Facelift?
If you are mainly concerned about the changes in your mid-face and don’t want the downtime experienced with a full-blown facelift – you should consider a Mid-face lift. The beauty of a Mid-face lift is that it allows us to “target” specific areas of concern with less healing and downtime.
How long will I be out of work?
You should be presentable to return to work within 2-3 weeks – even if you combine your Mid-face lift with an Endoscopic Brow lift which most of our clients like to do for maximum overall results.
Is there much pain with a Mid-face lift?
No. You will experience some “discomfort” rather than pain. This is easily managed with oral pain medication and elevation of the head.
Can I combine other facial procedures with a Mid-face lift?
Yes. Patients usually combine the lift with an Endo Brow lift, Cheek Implants or injectables with their Mid-face lift.
I'm almost a month out of my procedure and I'm very pleased with my results so far! I had a prior lower facelift several years ago that was done badly and a subsequent Thermitight procedure (not by Dr Choe) that had ruined the area under my chin. I went to Dr Choe for help after thoroughly researching him. I loved the fact that he only does faces. When I met with him he was very honest about the fact that my neck area was badly damaged and he couldn't promise how much of an improvement he could make but that he would try his best. I appreciated his honesty in setting proper expectations. I would much rather have someone under promise and over deliver which is what he did. The day of my surgery I was nervous but very confident that I had chosen the right surgeon. The anesthesiologist was exceptional. That's the first time in my life I've had anesthesia without getting nauseous. When I woke up I was feeling bright and alert with no pain. In fact I never felt any real pain and only took one pain pill the very first day. After that I only took Tylenol. I had very minimal bruising and the swelling wasn't as bad as I expected. I've had several follow up appointments with Dr Choe. His aftercare and the stages that he removes the stitches have really helped with the healing process. I still have some swelling but I'm able to see quite an improvement in the rippled, melted mess that was the area under my chin. I highly recommend Dr Choe and if I opt to have any more work done on my face he's the only doctor I would choose.
Why is there less bruising and healing time with a Mid-face lift?
Dr. Choe will make “smaller incisions” (endoscopically) and less muscle tightening is done – less tissue is disturbed – so bruising is much less and healing can occur faster.
