Do you have loose sagging skin on your face and neck? If so, Ultherapy might just be the perfect solution for you.

Ultherapy is a non-invasive and non-surgical procedure. It combines focused ultrasound waves and the body’s own healing system to tighten, lift, and tone the skin on your face, neck, brow, chin, and upper chest (décolletage).

The key benefits of Ultherapy are that there’s no use of foreign substances, almost no downtime, no scalpels or incisions, and no changes that could be described as extreme or dramatic. The procedure lets your skin restore itself in the most natural way possible without complications or side effects. You can get tighter skin quite quickly.

Preparation for Ultherapy

There is very little preparation required for Ultherapy. You can eat, drink, exercise, and follow your daily work routine as usual before and after the procedure.

Application of all make-up and skin-care products must be avoided, especially on the target areas, before the treatment begins. In fact, doctors will suggest avoiding the use of such products a day or two prior to the procedure.

Dr. Choe may prescribe painkillers or anti-inflammatory drugs before the procedure to prevent possible pain. However, the pain associated with Ultherapy is extremely mild, and most people do not require any anesthesia or medication.

The Ultherapy Procedure

First, the target areas will be will cleaned. This involves removing any oil or residue from the skin. After this, the ultrasound gel will be applied. The Ultherapy device will then be placed against the skin of the target area. The settings will be adjusted according to the data shown on the ultrasound monitor.

When the procedure begins, you may experience a tingling sensation, mild pain, or heat. A single Ultherapy session can end up lasting around 90 minutes, depending on the extent of treatment required. For instance, treatment on the décolletage can take around 30 minutes, while the neck and face areas can take anywhere from 60 to 90 minutes.

Custom Ultherapy treatments are also common. You will have to consult with Dr. Choe to find out what your options are.

After Your Ultherapy Treatment

One of the biggest advantages with Ultherapy is that there is hardly any downtime after treatment. You can resume your day-to-day activities right after the procedure is completed.

As for the results of the procedure, you will start to notice changes in a matter of days. The exact number of days can vary due to the involvement of your body’s own natural healing system and the rate at which it produces collagen. Some see results sooner than others.

In general, the improvement continues for a few months or as long as your body can keep producing fresh collagen at an enhanced rate. You can come in for an additional session once you feel that the signs of aging are starting to show again.
