Many of the first impressions we make are directly tied to our facial appearance. But when the early signs of aging begin to arise, it’s common to feel a bit insecure about our appearance. Over the course of time, we will develop wrinkles and sagging skin that are the result of the natural aging process, sun damage, genetics, and smoking. These changes can give us an older appearance, even when we feel youthful at heart. In order to help address these issues, the Choe Center Med Spa in Virginia Beach, VA offers an innovative treatment known as FaceTite.
What is FaceTite?
FaceTite is an advanced facial rejuvenation procedure that produces near-surgical results using small incisions. While injectable treatments like Botox provide temporary results that last for a few months, patients with more significant signs of aging often seek more extensive procedures like a facelift. The facelift, however, isn’t for everyone as it requires lengthy incisions and a long period of downtime.
FaceTite provides patients with an excellent option that lies in between these two facial rejuvenation techniques. FaceTite utilizes innovative radiofrequency waves along with smaller incisions to improve the skin’s contour and tightness. The device used provinces a gentle skin-tightening treatment that can target the most sensitive areas of the skin with the utmost precision
The FaceTite Procedure
Your FaceTite procedure will begin with the administration of local anesthesia along with mild sedation. Dr. Choe will proceed with making the incisions, through which he will apply a tumescent solution along with lidocaine to make the underlying tissues firmer and to help minimize bleeding. He will then apply the FaceTite handpiece to the treatment area in order to deliver the radiofrequency energy.
The device produces heat externally and internally. This allows it to improve the skin from the outside while melting fat on the inside then sometimes removed with liposuction depending on the patient. This process can be used to treat the:
- Jawline
- Double chin
- Saggy neck skin
- Jowls

What to Expect After Your FaceTite Treatment
The FaceTite procedure will take about one hour to complete depending on the area(s) treated. After the procedure is over, you will experience some redness, swelling, and bruising, but this is temporary and will subside. You will notice an immediate improvement in your facial contours that will continue to improve as you heal and your body begins to produce more collagen.
Patients undergoing FaceTite should take 4-5 days off work and 2 weeks off from physical activities to rest and recover. You can safely return to work after a week and physical activities after about two weeks. Dr. Choe will guide you throughout the entire treatment process and provide you with in-depth post-surgical instructions after the procedure.

Frequently Asked Questions
FaceTite is a minimally invasive option that combines gentle fat reduction with radiofrequency energy to help tighten the skin along the lower face, jawline, and neck. Patients often consider it when they want a more defined profile and a refreshed look without the downtime of a traditional surgical lift. Below are answers to the questions we hear most often in Virginia Beach, with an emphasis on realistic expectations and natural-looking results at The Choe Center.
FaceTite uses radiofrequency energy delivered through a small, specialized handpiece to warm tissue from within while also allowing targeted contouring of small pockets of fat. The controlled heat can encourage collagen remodeling over time, which is why many patients see gradual firming after the initial swelling settles. Because the treatment is performed through tiny access points, it is typically less disruptive than surgery, but it is still a procedure that requires careful planning and technique to keep results balanced and subtle.
FaceTite is often a good fit for patients who have mild to moderate skin laxity and early jowling or fullness under the chin, especially when the goal is refinement rather than a dramatic change. Candidates generally have a stable weight, healthy skin quality, and realistic expectations about what a minimally invasive approach can achieve. During a consultation, Dr. Choe evaluates your anatomy and discusses whether FaceTite alone is appropriate or whether a different approach would better match your goals.
These treatments can overlap in goal, but they work differently. FaceTite is minimally invasive and typically addresses both contour and tightening from beneath the skin, which can be helpful when there is a combination of laxity and small-volume fullness. Morpheus8 and Ultherapy Prime are non-surgical options that focus primarily on skin tightening and texture, and they may be better suited for patients who want a surface-based or ultrasound-based approach with little to no procedure downtime. In some cases, the best plan is not an “either-or” but a thoughtful sequence tailored to your skin quality and timeline.
Most patients should plan for swelling, tightness, and some bruising in the first one to two weeks, with the most noticeable swelling usually improving steadily after the first several days. A compression garment may be recommended for the neck or jawline depending on the treatment plan. Many people feel comfortable returning to desk work within several days, but social downtime varies, especially if bruising is a concern. Early contour changes can be visible once swelling starts to resolve, but the “tightening” component is typically more gradual. It is common for results to continue refining over several weeks to months as tissue settles and collagen remodeling progresses. Your specific timeline will depend on how much contouring is performed and the quality of your skin at baseline.
Yes, combination planning is one of the most important ways to keep results natural. For some patients, adding small-volume fat removal can improve definition under the chin and along the jawline. Others may have skin laxity that is better addressed with a surgical lift when the goal is a more comprehensive change. The right answer depends on whether the main issue is fullness, looseness, or both, and how much tightening you need to look refreshed, not over-corrected. If contour is the priority, you may also want to review neck liposuction. If laxity is more advanced, comparing FaceTite to a neck lift or mini facelift can help clarify which path fits your goals and timeline.
